Las comunas de San Clemente y Molina son consideradas por los expertos como sitios donde en forma frecuente se observan fenómenos aéreos anómalos, especialmente las áreas comprendidas entre la Laguna del Maule, Lago Colbún y Laguna Teno. Podemos considerar que la ruta ufológica está constituida por un gigantesco triángulo formado por tres líneas imaginarias que unen el pueblo de San Clemente con la Laguna del Maule en la frontera con Argentina y que recorre la ribera norte del lago Colbún y del río Maule, hacia el este. Desde la Laguna del Maule pasando por la cuenca de los ríos Lircay y Claro, cruzando la Reserva Nacional Altos del Lircay con sus míticos sitios: El Enladrillado y Vilches Altos y recorriendo los volcanes Cerro Azúl, Quizapu, Descabezado Grande y luego transitando la Reserva Nacional Parque Inglés, Radal Siete Tazas en la comuna de Molina con sus volcanes Descabezado Chico, Peteroa y Planchón hasta la Laguna Teno, para de ahí volver hasta el poblado de san Clemente. El área comprendida en este triángulo imaginario incluye una serie de pequeños poblados campesinos que poseen una enorme experiencia en avistamientos y relatos sobre ovnis.

1.- EL EJE DEL PASO INTERNACIONAL PEHUENCHE: Carretera que une una serie de sectores de gran belleza y actividad ufológica que van desde el Lago Colbún hasta la Laguna del Maule. El viaje hacia la Laguna del Maule recorre primero la rivera del lago Colbún, Paso Nevado, Armerillo, Las Garzas y La Mina, internándose por las cuencas de los cristalinos ríos Maule y Puelche, que forman hermosos valles rodeados de bosques. Existe alguna infraestructura de alojamiento y restaurantes.
1. - THE CENTERLINE OF INTERNATIONAL PEHUENCHE ROAD: The centerline of international Pehuenche: Road that links a number of areas of great beauty and UFO activity ranging from Lake Colbún to the Laguna del Maule. En la reserva Altos del Lircay existen 30 kilómetros de senderos habilitados por la Corporación Nacional Forestal que cruzan bosques de coigües, canelos, robles blancos, raulíes y lengas, y son hogar de pájaros carpinteros que se dejan ver trabajando, y jardines de rosas mosquetas, avellanos, maquis y murtillas. A los 1.500 metros de altura, el verde va quedando atrás y todo se convierte en terreno pedregoso y escarpado, sólo puedes ver rocas volcánicas y champas de coirones. La Laguna del Alto es la primera estación en el camino a las rojizas y oscuras piedras del Enladrillado. El recorrido de la ruta corta que incluye Enladrillado, Laguna del Alto y cerro El Peine se puede realizar en un par de días.

Al Volcán Descabezado Grande se puede ir y volver en cuatro días mínimo, aunque es recomendable mayor tiempo para disfrutar de las aguas termales y cascadas secretas, observar la vida de los cóndores y explorar túneles de hielo color turquesa formados sobre la montaña. Visitar el Volcán Quizapu y Cerro Azul necesita más tiempo, lo mismo la excursión a los volcanes Descabezado Chico, Peteroa y Planchón al interior de la reserva natural de Radal Siete Tazas.
